We are looking for an analytical, decisive, proactive and communicative Process Improvement Manager (PIM) for our Process, Planning & Analytics department.

The purpose of this position is twofold. On one hand, the PIM designs processes from scratch, because each clinical trial is unique. On the other hand, the PIM supports Julius Clinical in continuously improving its existing working processes. The PIM provides data analyses, solves complex logistical & planning challenges and carries out Lean Six Sigma improvement projects. Furthermore, the PIM functions as a link between users & system development and drives innovation & change.

For this position, it is crucial that you can translate your analyses to creative, useful and practical solutions for the business. We expect you to take the lead in such projects and to be able to connect with and influence colleagues on all levels in the organisation.

The Process, Planning & Analytics department works for the whole organisation as well as for clinical project teams, and therefore has a central place in the organisation. You report to the Associate Director Process, Planning & Analytics, who reports directly to the COO.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Researches, designs and implements new processes for departments or clinical trials;
  • Analyses existing business processes and identifies improvement opportunities for process efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Constructs process flow diagrams that capture end-to-end business processes and demonstrate the inputs / outputs of a process and illustrate the various activities and their interrelationships;
  • Identifies, defines and leads Lean Six Sigma Black Belt- level process improvement initiatives;
  • Trains, supports and encourages (project) teams in the Continuous Improvement of their own working processes;
  • Advises Managers and Department Heads on process improvement and change management;
  • Demonstrates strong communication and presentation skills in meetings, facilitated sessions, and (leadership) presentations;
  • Builds partnerships, based on trust and transparency, with the business to understand and document business needs / requirements;
  • Collects the necessary (trial) data, performs analyses and advises MT, Business Development, clinical Project Managers and Department Heads;
  • Identifies business demand and translates those into (user) requirements for functional and process enhancements, including input for system selection;
  • Proactively discovers the need for reports to facilitate decision making based on facts, for both trials & departments;
  • Designs, builds and implements efficient and effective solutions for complex challenges in planning and logistics of clinical trials, for example by making MS Excel trackers;
  • Sets up & gives trainings like MS Excel, Lean Six Sigma & Continuous Improvement;
  • Stays up to date with developments in the fields of Lean Six Sigma, change management and clinical trials.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Higher level of education (preferably academic, e.g. Econometrics, Medical Biology or an MBA);
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or experienced Green Belt);
  • Strong affinity with business process management;
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience (preferably in the CRO, Pharma or Cure  industry);
  • Project management skills & experience;
  • Proven track record for explaining a process to leadership, business and developers;
  • Experience capturing complex requirements to meet business objectives;
  • Experience in change management and stakeholder management;
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organisation;
  • Extensive experience with process mapping & project management tools like MS Visio & MS Project;
  • Experience with MS Excel and statistical analysis tooling like Minitab, SPSS or R;
  • Adequate command of written and spoken Dutch and English.
